I want to pledge Alpha Phi Alpha but I don’t know how I should approach the brothers, What should I do?

I want to pledge Alpha but I don’t know how to approach the brothers. I don’t want it to look like Im just kissing a$$ to get in but , how would you feel if a random person walked up to you and only wanted to know about getting in to your frat. Can some one inform me a little.

Public Comments

1. Most fraternities hold a pledge drive at the beginning of every semester, so try then.
2. Approach them in an indirect manner. Many people don't advise in the idea of directly approaching them (at least those on yard) because of pre-pledging and hazing. If you want to show your interest, attend the events and forums they have, but don't just show up to the dances and club parties! If they're doing community service that asks for campus involvement, show your interest by volunteering. Make yourself known in a positive way that they notice you and feel you'd be an asset to their organization. Get involved on your campus and in your community! Take on leadership roles, keep up in your studies, and be a well-rounded young man. Those are just a few suggestions.
3. As a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, I suggest that you just try to get to know some of the brothers with out mentioning Alpha up front. If you come to now them well enough chances are they will bring it up eventually. Try to support our events, many of which are open to the public. Other than that I can't tell you much more, you have to find you way, just like all of us brothers who where once in your shoes.
