What type(s) of radiation -alpha,beta or gamma- would be best suited for this technique? Why? Several medical applications require the ingestion of radioactive materials that concentrate in a particular organ. The emitted radiation is detected on a photographic plate to obtain an image of the organ. What type(s) of radiation -alpha, beta or gamma- would be best suited for this technique? Why?
A few questions about Alpha,Gamma, and Beta radiation? Do Beta particles have the greatest mass of all the major forms of radioactivity? Can Gamma radiation penetrate more deeply into materials than any other form of radiation? Do Alpha particles tend to pick up electrons and become helium atoms? It would be very helpful if you could explain to me the above questions.

Why are the alpha & the beta particles affected by electric & megnetic fields but the gamma rays are not affec ted .I know that the gamma rays have no charge & the alpha & beta particles have opposite charges. But what is the reason that the gamma rays are not affected by the ELECTRIC & MAGNETIC fields. Please give detailed answers according to the standard of a class 10 student.
What is the identity of alpha, beta and gamma radiations? please list different identitys for all three!
What are the isotopic symbols for alpha, beta, and gamma? I don't want to know the Greek symbols, just the Isotopic ones.
What are the nuclear symbols for alpha, beta and gamma? and also what are their's nature of radiation and charge ?
which tehnologies produce gamma, alpha and beta radiations? what rays do cell phones, microwave and computers produce?
Radiation - which is more dangerous, alpha or gamma? Alpha particles are more ionising. But gamma rays have more energy and can penetrate deeper. Which one is more dangerous?
Chemistry question about alpha, beta, and gamma decay? Which of the three (alpha, beta, or gamma) types of decay is the strongest? Which is the weakest? How would you stop the decay from harming you? I know that the strongest decay would have to be separated from you by like 6 feet of concrete in order to not be harmed by it. Would you just need thick jeans and winter coats to stop the middle? I think our teacher said that the weakest one can be stopped by paper. Can someone tell me if i have this stuff straight? I lost some of my notes and we have a test on Thursday.
Select the incorrect statement about alpha, beta and gamma rays of radiation? (A) All affect a photgraphic plate (B) Alpha rays possess charged particles (C) Beta rays move most rapidly (D) Beta rays lack charged particles (E) Gamma rays display high frequency waves
What are the main uses for Alpha, Beta and Gamma Rays? I need to know for my physics homework, but I can't find anything. Can anyone help, please?
Alpha males and alpha females vs. gamma males and gamma females? How can you tell the difference between an alpha male and a gamma male? What about the difference between an alpha female and a gamma female? I'm talking about in human societies. Does it all come down to your perspective? On the front of the Daily Mail today it read "Why alpha females shouldn't marry gamma males". I read the article inside and it got me thinking...hence my question.
which type of radiation is the heaviest? alpha? beta? or gamma? which radiation is the fastest? alpha? beta? or gamma? which type of radiation is actually a helium nucleus? alpha, beta or gamma? which type of radiation is actually an electron? alpha beta or gamma? which radiation is the most difficult to stop? alpha beta or gamma? helpppppppp
alpha, beta or gamma most dangerous inside the body? I think that beta is most dangerous inside the body as it cannot pass through and so stays inside the body causing damage to cells. my mum says that gamma is the most dangerous inside the body because "gamma radiatiation is very nasty". Please prove one of us right!
Alpha Beta Gamma Energy Question. 10 pts to best asap ? The following answers meet the description below. Like A high energy form of light is gamma. For first 2 I am comparing answers, but the last 2-3 stumped me. Please help. a. alpha b. beta c. gamma d. alpha and beta but not gamma 1. A high energy form of light 2. Associated with a neutron changing into a proton 3. A high speed electron 4. Used by ernest rutherford as a "probe" 5. Most penetrating of the Bequerel Rays
What type of radiation-alpha, beta, or gamma-results in the greatest change in atomic #? mass #? I know that gamma is the least for both but not sure on which is the most for both.
Good at science? If you had three radioactive items, one emits alpha, one gamma, one beta rays.? You are forced to swallow one, hold one in your hand, and put one in your pocket. Which would you do with each, and why? I would think the alpha would go in the pocket. So far, I agree with Jack #3 answerer. I know for sure you don't want to eat, or inhale alpha emiting material.

List which of the tree types of radiaton- alpha, beta, or gamma - each of the following describes.? A. is not deflected by a magnet B. Has a neg charge C. Moves with the greatest speed , gamma right? d. consists of ions e. is similar to light rays f. consists of the same particles as cathode rays.
Radioactive Decay...Alpha, Beta, Gamma....? Hi. I am doing some research for a paper that I have to write on Nuclear Physics/Radioactive Decay. First of all I am under the impression that Alpha and Beta are particles, and Gamma is a wave. I understand the structure, size, and speed differences of the three particles/waves, but I do not understand WHY gamma waves have a greater penetration than the Alpha and Beta particles. Thanks.
What are alpha, beta and gamma genes in the life cycle of DNA viruses? What is the role of the proteins that each category of gene code for in the life cycle?
Radiation?? Alpha, Beta and Gamma? Why is beta best to measure paper rather than Alpha and Gamma. Why is alpha best for smoke detectors and gamma for looking inside steel structures? Is it because the rays are more/less penetrating?
What is the best sorority...Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Kappa Alpha or Sigma Gamma Rho? I want to pledge this year ( I go to Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD), but I'm not really sure what the chapter are about. I hear that some want rich people, some want only black people...I just want to prodly represent what I respect to the fullest, and also gain some sisters and brothers that want to do the same. Please help, and thank so much!

physics help pleeez......alpha, beta and gamma particles!!!!!!!? hi i am doing research about gamma, alpha and beta particles can u pleez help me answer these questions because i am finding it difficult to get information from the net. thank you i am not sure whether each of the following things (paper, metal sheets and underground gas) uses or stops radiation. can anyone let me know whether they use radiation or stop it thank you. what type of radiation is used by /stopped by paper and why? what type of radiation is used by /stopped by metal sheets and why? what type of radiation is used to detect underground gas leaks? thank you!!!! :)
alpha beta gamma.....COOKIES? can anyone explain to me the effects of alpha, beta particles and gamma ray radiation to our body? regarding their penertrating power and ionizing capacity. SAID: A. alpha: very little pentrating power and are able to ionize a large number of atoms within the small area they were able to penetrate. B. beta: they can penetrate paper or several millimeters of skin and about 1-metre of air. they are absorbed by aluminum or Perspex, a few millimeters thick. their ionizing capacity is less than that of alpha-radiation. C. gamma: it has no electric charge and has great enetrating power. not even a thicj\k piece of lead or concrete will stop all of them, although, their ionizing capacity is smaller that that of beta-rays. ASSUME THEY WERE RADIOACTIVE COOKIES CONTAING EACH OF THEM:if you were allowed to eat one, hold one and place one in your pocket, which cookie should be placed where so that you wil receive the least radiation?A B OR C? EXPLAIN... WHICH COOKIE IS HARMFUL?WHY?
